African Continental Open 2026!

Three Judo Academy fighters have been chosen again to represent NI Judo and GBR at this weekend’s Continental Judo Open in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The three fighters will compete with their team mate Rachael on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Aodhan, Quinn, and Conall will compete in the Junior, Under 20 event on Friday, and Senior ranking event on Sunday.

Aodhan will squeeze in the cadet competition on Saturday to round off an action packed trip.

Accompanied by NI Judo Performance Coach, Sarah Hawkes, the team has progressed remarkably this year gaining great experience across the world and showing that the small steps forward through NI Judo Pathway Program have led to greater gains in the long term.

With their physical and technical performance orchestrated at The Judo Academy under lead coach Stephen McCluskey, the team will certainly be vying for medals sooner rather than later.
