NI Open 2026!

A tough weekend was had by all at the NI Open. A level four GB ranking event saw over 600 fighters from across the UK compete over two days.

Finn was first up in what was his biggest event yet. He fought very well at a higher weight category, as well as being in the lower end of his age bracket, Finn will be back stronger next year. Lessons learnt on the importance of good nutrition and weight management in a controlled sport.

Aodhan also had a tough day on Saturday with two losses in golden score. Such a tough and competitive category, it showed the quality, strength, and depth of judo across GB regions, a conveyor belt of talent year after year.

On day two, Conall won three fights with a very strong tachiwaza performance again, narrowly losing in semi final and then again in the bronze medal fight, after being ahead for most of fight.

Quinn took a strong Gold medal in the U90kg, with three good wins. He also took a bronze in the senior category with two more wins. He cemented his position among the top 5 in GB and his place on the British Squad.

Learning from the event at this level was to improve two areas, mindset and focus.
