Success at African Continental Open, Ivory Coast!

Aodhan, Quinn, and Conall had another experience of a lifetime representing NI judo, Great Britain, and The Judo Academy at their second Continental Open event in Abidjan, Ivory Coast last weekend.

They built on their broadening experience and secured a Silver (Quinn) and Bronze (Conall) medal in the Junior event to add to their success in Jordan in June.

16 year old Aodhan travelled and competed in three categories, cadet, junior, and senior; remarkable commitment from the young man.

This is the latest development for the NITDP squad and highlights the progress of the NI Pathway initiative over the past 4 years.

The lads are leading the way for NI judo and hope to continue their progress up the GB and World Ranking list at their age category.

They were accompanied by Lead Performance Coach Sarah Barritt and Rachael Hawkes, herself a seasoned competitor taking a Gold medal for GB and NI Judo.

Many thanks to Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, Mary Peters Trust, NI Judo, SportNi, and Commonwealth Ganes NI for consistent support.
