This involves the second item in your judo tool kit, the Skipping Rope!
Again, it is one of the items supplied by The Judo Academy to its competitive team over the past few months. Most people will have access to one, or again, use a judo belt or similar item.
Fantastic for coordination, balance, speed and a great cardio workout. Footwork is a key component of all judo techniques and skipping drills certainly compliment the resistance band work in Remote Training 1.
Skipping is also a must for weight controlled sports and can help maintain fitness levels posture, speed and improve movement while we are off the mats.
Why not have a go at the 30 day skipping rope challenge. The challenge is to complete 1000 skips each day for 30 days. From Day 1, time how long it takes to complete 1000 skips, record and monitor the time each day. Don't worry if you miss one or two, just keep trying when you can. It should take 8-10 minutes to start.
There is an app called 'Skipping' available on Google play that will help count skips.
Let us know how you get on!
